What will you be doing:

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership, and patient care management across the health care continuum from preventative, acute care through discharge. A Nurse Practitioner’s practice incorporates both independent decision-making abilities and collaboration with the board certified/eligible physician to provide expert care to the patients. 

• The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership and patient care management across.
• Incorporate both independent decision making abilities and collaboration with the physician to provide expert care to the patients.
• Responsible to assist with consultations, prepare patients for surgery by reviewing the chart, performing history and physical examination, ordering diagnostic tests, reviewing results, and reporting to the surgeon as needed, and manage all aspects of the patient care in the outpatient clinic, including addressing patient calls and collaborating with other intradisciplinary team members


Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

One (1) plus years’ experience as Nurse Practitioner in acute hospital. (preferred)

Three (3) plus years of nursing experience. (preferred)

Prior experience in cardiac or cardiac surgery strongly preferred

Educational/Licensure/Certifications Requirements:

Master of Nursing Degree

Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered

Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License (eligible to obtain)

National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner

Current DEA license (schedule 2-5) and NP Furnishing Number

Current BLS and ACLS certification
