What will you be doing in this role:

The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating all activities necessary to implement various information systems and coordinate the data analytics portfolio, including managing the following project and portfolio responsibilities: system requirements definition, process and/or workflow redesign, vendor evaluation and contract negotiation (if applicable), implementation coordination with operations and other EIS departments, transition to support functions, project review with business stakeholders, and project prioritization management.  

  • Provides project management expertise for entire project life cycle. This includes, but is not limited to, facilitating the following functions: system requirements definition, process and/or workflow redesign, business case development, Request for Proposal development, vendor evaluation and selection, and contract negotiation and development. Ensures contract compliance, risk analysis, project scope, implementation management, and support transition.
  • Responsible for working with our operational partners in developing and planning the project timeline including all project phases-requirements: workflow, Q/A and testing, end-user training, go-live readiness, and support.
  • Projecting resource requirements, ensuring appropriate assignment of resources to each project/support phase, adding & deleting resources as necessary, and has overall responsibility for completion of the project. Leads and manages the project within established time and budget parameters.
  • Provides informative and timely status reports using department reporting procedures for both internal EIS and external operational customers.
  • Keeps abreast of current trend and developments in the field through participation with vendor user groups, attending conferences, vendor demonstrations, and interacting with other vendor customers. Maintains a strong understanding of system development and project management methodologies.
  • Responds thoroughly and promptly to customer needs as defined in conjunction with customers.  Assumes ownership of customer relationships and follows issues through to closure.
  • Mentors and assists junior staff on more complex projects.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

Three (3) plus years’ experience managing system implementations, preferably in a healthcare organization.

Demonstrated experience in Database Build and Migration, Application or Pipeline Build, systems analysis and vendor/customer interactions.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, project development, and management software.

Demonstrated experience in project management, scope, cost, time, risk, quality, and communication using Project Management Institute and/or Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundation principles, or completion of the Cedars-Sinai recognized project management course within the first year of employment.

Epic or EMR experience highly desirable. 

Educational/Certification Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business, or technical field. (preferred)

PMP a plus.
