Position Summary:

The Operations Analyst, Bariatric Clinic is responsible for reviewing bariatric surgical charts for complications, readmissions, adverse events, and extended length of stay.  They will be conducting research and subsequent analysis for program efficiency, clinical improvement, patient safety, patient experience. The Operations Analyst collects and submits accurate, complete, and timely data to the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) Registry. Serves as point person for any analytical needs related to QI/PI projects. Facilitates processes or discussions to ensure that QI project standards are meeting goals. Identifies streamlining and process improvement opportunities in the data collection process, including efforts with individual surgeon offices. Participates in data compilation for audits and re-accreditation or site visits.

In addition, the Operations Analyst is responsible for the following:

Implementing, reviewing, and presenting the annual Bariatric Clinic Quality Assurance Performance Improvement projects at the CSMDRH quality council committee.

Builds and designs department analysis through, reports, dashboards, metrics and/or other analytics. Conducts research and translates data into key insights and recommendations to be used for strategic decision making.

Maintains the departmental analysis to monitor performance or effectiveness, analytics planning dashboards and/or reports. Provides consultative support regarding data and work with the Bariatric Program Director in the development of metrics and reports.

Extracts, reports, and analyzes large data sets from multiple data sources and systems.  Responsible for data integrity, accurate formatting, merging, and representation of the data.

Prepares high quality reports and presentations materials for the department, client, leadership and/or Executive audiences regarding data outcomes and formulated recommendations.

Provides project management support by obtaining data/information requirements to produce analytics and/or reports that meet requested client and/or departmental need.

Facilitates process improvement by optimizing data collection and data capture to produce efficient outcomes.

Provides project management and/or implementation services for departmental projects.


Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health administration, economics, Nursing or other related field, preferred.

International/Foreign Medical Gradate, strongly desired.

Experience:

Two (2) years of experience in business, operational, and/or quantitative analysis, required.

Two (2) years of experience in health care analysis, preferably in an acute care environment, preferred.

Certifications/Licenses:

Basic Life Support, required

CA RN License, preferred

Education Commission For Foreign Medical Grad, preferred

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Ability to apply critical thinking to analyze and interpret information and/or data, advanced.

Ability to initiate, plan, design, execute, and monitor project(s), intermediate.

Ability to use software applications and operate technological devices, advanced.

Ability to provide a level of work excellence and accuracy; recognize and address flaws or errors that others may overlook, advanced.
