Come join the staff of GI Diag/Endoscopy. They have a position available for a Specialty Technician II, working in a dynamic unit requiring excellent partnership and a commitment to excellence every single day. The GI Unit is an advanced gastroenterology unit performing approximately 900 cases per month. These cases include general GI, pancreatic-biliary GI, emergency GI with out-patient and in-patient procedures. The department includes a pre-operative unit and a licensed PACU.

  • You will clean, disinfects, inventories, and maintains endoscopes and non-disposable equipment.
  • You will Operate and maintain ultrasonic scope washer; monitors and prepares inoperable/damaged scopes for repair.
  • Tests scope washer solutions daily and endoscopes as outlined in Unit Infection Control policies.
  • Orders and stocks hospital based medical supplies and tracks inventory of medical and other supplies from outside vendor orders.
  • Maintains PAR levels of necessary supplies, safely transfer and transports patients to and from procedures, and performs other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technicians preferred

License/Certification Requirements:

  • Current BCLS certification from AHA or ARC required.
  • Technician training certificate or equivalent level of training and experience preferred
  • Surgical Tech Certificate preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of GI Lab experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience assisting with endoscopy procedures preferred
  • Previous experience providing patient transfer and transportation
  • Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
