Job Description
The Director is responsible for overseeing the development of large scale construction ($100M+) or a portfolio of projects from inception through project close-out. The individual is responsible for directing and managing the Integrated Project Team, which consists of the outsourced Project architectural/engineering firm, general contractor, and assigned CSMC staff. Specifically, the Director will work in concert with the FPDC project managers, architects, resource accounting and support staff from initial project inception through successful project completion. The individual will also maintain close coordination with CSMC Enterprise Information Systems (EIS), Health and Safety, and any other CSMC department required to successfully complete the Project. The individual will report project progress to Senior Management on a periodic basis.
Leads all aspects of large-scale strategic construction and other large project responsibilities or a portfolio of projects.
Responsible for the maintenance and management of the project schedule for large strategic projects or portfolio of projects.
Provides coordination and management between departmental staff and support organizations as required for large strategic projects or portfolio of projects.
Oversees the coordination between the Architect/Engineer, General Contractor, user groups and other executive leadership groups for large strategic projects or portfolio of projects.
Interfaces with municipal agencies and keeps Executive Director informed of project progress.
Consistently initiates and participates in productivity and quality improvements, including benchmarking with other facilities and monitoring progress.
Prepares, reviews and monitors budgets and all project expenditures.
Oversees the development of Project-standardized comprehensive computer generated project schedules and cost analysis.
Insures project compliance with all Cedars-Sinai, Medical Center polices, OSHPD policies, OSHA requirements, federal/state/local regulations and JCAHO requirements.
A participatory, collaborative and inclusive leader who fosters team building, promotes team growth and mentorship, and also seeks input and feedback from internal and external sources.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or other related field required.
License/Certifications:
Valid CA driver's license required to drive to offsite construction sites.
Experience:
15 years of construction project management responsiblities and experience required.
