Job Description

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) plays a crucial role in Cedars-Sinai Medical Group's commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services efficiently. Working alongside physicians in collaboration, the APP shares responsibility for the well-being of our patients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough patient examinations, gathering comprehensive medical data, including health history, and analyzing physical examination results.
  • Post-Op consults.
  • Will assist physicians with several in-house procedures including Vain Sclero Therapies and tunnel catheter removal.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as ultrasound, CT/MRI scans, and laboratory tests, and assessing deviations from normal.
  • Performing therapeutic procedures like injections, cosmetic sclerotherapy, assisting with vein ablation and micro-phlebectomy procedures, suturing, wound care, managing infections, and other duties within the scope of practice.
  • Developing and implementing patient management plans, documenting consult notes, progress notes, and contributing to continuity of care.
  • Educating and advising patients on adhering to prescribed therapeutic regimens.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
  • Assisting in triaging in-basket messages, including patient referrals, and communicating with pre- and post-procedure patients about their care.
  • Performing other assigned duties.

Important Note: Work Schedule - 8am – 5pm – Monday to Friday ----- NO operating room duties

Educational Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in nursing for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistant Studies accredited by ARC-PA

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

  • Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure by the State of California or Physician Assistant (PA) licensure by the State of California.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year post graduation experience.
  • Two+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in relevant clinical areas such as general surgery, reconstructive surgery, or other surgical specialties strong preferred.
