Job Description

What will I be doing in this role?

The Sr. Benefits Analyst role supports administration of benefit plans, qualified retirement, and non-qualified benefits programs, including defined benefit, defined contribution, 403(b) and 457(b) plans. Aids with maintaining plan compliance, administrative requirements and manage vendor relationships and have a strong understanding of how to use, rely on, correct, and evaluate data integrity as it applies to the qualified and non-qualified plans.

The Sr. Benefits Analyst role must have strong knowledge and understanding of the ERISA rules. Their experience in various benefits/HR accreditations should demonstrate the ability to interpret and revise plan documents, benefit summaries and plan policies periodically and/or based on ERISA plan changes, if necessary.  This role must also be able to administer all applicable benefit plans, demonstrate the ability to evaluate data for participation/eligibility purposes. Speak to the business of benefits and explain benefits to an individual participant.

** This is a full-time, hybrid, benefited limited term role anticipated to last for 6-months from date of hire with the possibility to extend per operational needs. **

  • Provide subject-matter expertise for the administration of the core Benefit plans; respond to benefit inquiries and provide support to Benefit Analysts regarding plan provisions, enrollments, status changes, and other general inquiries.
  • Provide benefit/retirement consultations for employees.
  • Reviews and updates applicable plan documents and summary plan descriptions as necessary.
  • Vendor management of third-part service providers, including review and evaluation of service levels and service level agreements as well as vendor searches.
  • Performs quality checks and audits of benefits-related data.
  • Contribute analytics to retirement strategy design, reporting, administration, and payroll support, including payroll system conversion activities.
  • Effectively communicating Peet’s benefit programs regarding plan options, policy features, eligibility, enrollment, and other requirements.
  • Manage benefits systems and online enrollment system process for all benefit plans which includes designing and maintaining automated file feeds, troubleshooting errors and problem resolution.
  • Provide ongoing support to develop and champion wellness program and other onsite benefits and wellness events.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Experience Requirements:

  • 7 years of benefits experience.
  • 3 years of human resources experience preferred.
