Job Summary:
The Vice President, Payor Revenue Management and Patient Services reports to the Vice President, Finance & Chief Revenue Cycle Officer (CRO) of Cedars Sinai Revenue Cycle (CSRC) and is responsible for the direction and oversight of the following units within the CSRC: Professional and Hospital billing and collections, Self-Pay, Access, Registration, Financial Clearance, and Customer Service. The VP coordinates with the CRO, other CSRC leaders, staff and stakeholders throughout Cedars-Sinai to ensure that all operational revenue management functions are aligned and optimized to meet or exceed patient requirements, maximize cash collections, and minimize cost to collect. In addition, the VP plays a key role in setting and advancing the strategic vision and culture of the CSRC. Role models an appreciation for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Duties and Responsibilities
- In collaboration with the Chief Revenue Officer, develop strategies, objectives, goals and policies and procedures for the Payor Revenue Management and Patient Services functions. Implements necessary measures to achieve stated objectives and goals, following through to ensure that objectives are met or exceeded.
- Direct oversight of teams providing services related to billing, collections, customer service, access, registration, financial clearance, and customer service.
- Responsible for ensuring the optimal technology and operational infrastructure are in place to support the expansion of the organization’s clinical access strategy and revenue cycle initiatives.
- Provide oversight and management of outsourcing vendor relationships.
- Operate and build strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including leaders within the administrative, clinical and payer environments.
- Oversee a patient-focused call center from patients requiring assistance with scheduling and revenue cycle concerns.
- Proactively work with commercial payers to minimize denials and reduce Days in Outstanding Accounts Receivable.
- Manages the overall operational, budgetary and financial responsibilities of the departments; seeks ways to control costs without compromising the quality of services delivered.
- Leads teams in meeting high quality performance standards and in achieving KPIs in all areas of responsibility by creating an environment of continuous process improvement and accountability.
- Develops standard and reliable processes for assessing capacity needs. For areas with constrained capacity, works with clinical and administrative leadership to identify and implement specific strategies for enhanced access and opportunities to maximize the revenue cycle.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree: Business, healthcare administration or related field (Required Minimum)
Experience:
10 years - Progressive healthcare revenue cycle operations and management in a large complex health system, hospital and/or medical group (Required Minimum)
5 years - Leading middle/upper-level management teams (Required Minimum)
