The Vice President of Nursing serves as the executive leader overseeing Cedars Sinai Medical Center inpatient nursing
operations and the practice of nursing across all Cedars Sinai clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, emergency,
operating room and other procedural areas. The Vice President of Nursing will be a key member of the Cedars-Sinai executive
leadership team and will have shared responsibility with other members of the executive team to enhance and sustain
excellence in clinical care, education and research. The Vice President of Nursing is responsible for the execution of nursing
administration, clinical practice, human resource management, fiscal accountability, productivity, and regulatory compliance.
Will develop and maintain a national reputation for excellence, humanism, and professionalism in the leadership of highquality
nursing care. Will demonstrate motivation and creativity and serves as a catalyst for effective changes within Nursing
at the institutional level. Leads nursing staff in the provision of nursing care consistent with Nursing Standards of
Care/Practice, The Plan for the Provision of Nursing Care, The Plan for Provision of Patient Care, CSMC Code of Conduct, The
Performance Improvement Plan, The Patient Education Plan and Professional Organization Standards.
Is responsible for demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the trends and forces that shape the health care delivery
system, the provision of care, and other emerging issues in health care. In addition to demonstrating flexibility and initiative
to effectively lead change efforts to respond to environmental or organizational change.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Master’s Degree in Nursing (or other acceptable post graduate degree
if incumbent has a BSN in Nursing)
