What will you be doing in this role?
As a per diem Speech Language Pathologist in Acute Therapy at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, you will have comprehensive knowledge of assessment and intervention techniques in a medical and physical disabilities setting
Demonstrate appropriate treatment interventions and strategies
Complete discharge planning for patients
Knowledge and experience with bedside swallow exams and video swallow evaluations
Must possess a minimum computer competency comprised of a working knowledge of Windows or comparable system (specifically including keyboard and mouse skills). As applicable to individual job duties and expectations, employee must additionally possess a working knowledge of word processing, databases, presentation development, e-mail, browser and online reporting.
While performing video-swallowing studies, speech-language pathologists may be exposed to mild doses of radiation.
The Therapist-Per Diem is considered employed on an at-will basis with no guarantee of scheduled hours. Scheduling is done based on staffing need and availability. The Therapist-Per Diem staff member is expected to be available a minimum of 16 hours per month.
Graduate of an ACOTE accredited OT program or equivalent
Valid and current license as an OT in the state of California
Valid and current CPR certification: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing therapist and evidence of ability to perform at this level. A minimum of two years experience in acute care. Working experience with an electronic healthcare record preferred.
Able to push, pull, lift up to 100 lbs on an intermittent basis; able to bend,stoop, sit, stand and walk without restrictions.
