At Cedars-Sinai, the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute doesn't treat all cancers the same. There are more than 20 cancer centers, programs or specialized services that specialize in treatment and leading edge research into specific forms of cancer. These centers and programs provide patient centered care and state-of-the-art diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical procedures.

At the Department of Radiation Oncology, our oncologists, therapists and staff work together to design custom treatment plans for specific types of cancer. This ensures the patient will more quickly feel normal, and that healthy tissues are minimally impacted from the effects of radiation.

 

Summary of Essential Job Duties:

 
The Clinical Nurse III delivers direct care to patients receiving radiation therapy with a strong emphasis on managing side effects, whether they are new, on-treatment or coming in for follow-up visits.
 
The Clinical Nurse III serves in a leadership role and delivers direct patient care to assigned population.  Leadership responsibilities include coordinating resources appropriately to cover all services requiring nursing support, identifying potential and/or existing problems and assuming responsibility for problem resolution.  Assists team members in the completion of assignments and is active in serving as a resource, preceptor and role model for effective and professional communication.

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required
  • BSN preferred

 

Experience:

 

  • A minimum of two (2) years of acute care Nursing experience
  • Experience in Radiation Oncology preferred

 

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of California
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • OCN certification required
  • Chemo Bio certification preferred
