Make a Difference in Imaging!


As a Radiopharmacist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, you will help assist is the overall operations of the radiopharmacy and demonstrates advanced knowledge and competency in the field. Duties include inventory control, purchasing, preparation, compounding, quality control and record keeping of all activities associated with the Radiopharmacy. You will dispense radiopharmaceuticals to the neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population. He/she performs all job duties with sensitivity and attention to the age and developmental issues of the patient population(s) served. He/she is the primary dispenser of Radiopharmaceuticals for the department and ensures that all doses are formulated and dispensed appropriate to patient age and in accordance with the diagnostic or therapeutic study orders. You will thoroughly be knowledgeable and ensure the area is in compliance with Federal, State, and local requirements, regulatory/accreditation agencies and CSHS's radioactive materials license. Assist in supervising Hot Lab security and ensures that the Nuclear Imaging staff are mindful of the critical importance of Hot Lab safety. Ensures that only qualified and authorized personnel have access to the radiopharmacy. The Radiopharmacist will also assist in literature review and creating reports for department quality assurance and improvement. The Radiopharmacist will demonstrate continuous self-improvement, make effective contributions to section, adhere to CSHS compliance plan, code of conduct, and hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

It is the expectation of all employees of the Imaging Department will perform their duties and interact with patients, co-workers, supervisors, physicians, visitors and other personnel in a manner that is cooperative, supportive and positive at all times.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy required 
  • PharmD preferred


  • Current State of California Pharmacy license required
  • Nuclear Pharmacy certification required


  • Minimum of one year of recent Pharmacist experience required
  • Experience or training in Radiopharmacy/Nuclear Pharmacy required

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent sitting and standing; occasional walking and bending; occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds for distances up to 10 feet.
  • Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices including telephones, beepers, fire alarms, mechanical failure alarms.
  • Visual acuity including color differentiation.
  • Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients and other customers.

Work Environment (work environments, hazards and exposures the employee may encounter on the job):

  • Daily functions include exposure to ionizing radiation and may include exposure to magnetic fields.
  • May be exposed to blood borne pathogens and hazardous materials.
  • Some functions may require use of protective gear: lead aprons, gloves face and syringe shields.
  • Repetitive hand motions.
  • Computer work contributing to eye strain and back fatigue.
