Responsibilities
Requisition # HRC0715375As a Project Scientist, you will work independently and in cooperation with the Principal Investigator to make significant and creative contributions to a research or creative project in any academic discipline. You may be an ongoing member of a research team or may be employed for a limited period of time to contribute high-level skills to a specific research or creative program. Our Project Scientist title carries out research or creative programs as well as administration of day-to-day lab operations with supervision by a member of the Professorial Series. You may also participate in publications and presentations as author or co-author and may develop, adapt and implement new research techniques and protocols. Our ideal candidate will have Transplantation and Immunology experience/background.
Educational Requirements:
- Must be a Ph.D. or M.D. in Molecular Biology, Biology or Biochemistry.
Experience:
- Maintains experimental computerized data management, and experience in eukaryotic and prokaryotic systems at the DNA, RNA, or protein level.
- Experience and knowledge of Transplantation and Immunology, preferred.
- Minimum of two to three (2-3) years as a Postdoctoral Fellow.
- Completion of Postdoctoral appointment in area of specialization.
- Knowledge of PI’s area of research specialization.
- Demonstrated technical competency in a variety of research techniques and protocols.
Physical demands of this role:
- Frequent sitting and standing; occasional walking and bending.
- Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds for distances to 10 feet.
- Frequent use of computer keyboards, monitors and telephones.
- Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices such as telephones, fire alarms and mechanical failure alarms.
- Near visual acuity including color differentiation.
- Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients and other customers. Manual dexterity to manipulate equipment safely and efficiently.
