Postdoctoral Scientist - immunology and microbiology

Summary of Essential Job Duties:
The Postdoctoral Scientist will work in close cooperation and in consultation and mentorship of the the Principal Investigator (Moshe Arditi) and other PIs, Research Scientists, the Research Postdoc Fellow will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout training period. May develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols. Analyzes and interprets data. Will assist in preparation of grant proposals. Participates in publications and presentations as author or co-author. Will get ready by the end of the training year to apply for foundation and NIH grants for a path to independence.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• May assist in preparation of grant proposals, but is not responsible for generating grant funds. May participate in publications and presentations as author or co-author.
• Designs and performs experiments in the PI s projects in Basic Immunology. Will keep appropriate experimental records and documentation and analyze the results with the Principal Investigator.
• May develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols. Analyzes, interprets, summarizes and compiles data.
• Performs routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout training period. Operates and maintains equipment and instruments.
• Works on Immunobiology projects of host immune responses and mucosal immunology basic science studies involving various experimental mouse models of vasculitis, atherosclerosis and inflammation research. Experience with gut microbiome prefered.


Educational Requirements:
PhD or highest degree in their field. Demonstrated significant, original, and creative contributions to a research or creative program or project completion of postdoctoral appointment in area of specialization.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

Experience:
Completion of PhD studies in immunology and or microbiology and experience with experimental mouse models required. Demonstrated technical competency in a variety of research techniques and protocols in cell biology, molecular biology , microscopy , experimental mouse work.

Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, standing, walking)
Able to perform Moderate lifting. Able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
