As a contributing scientist, you will work independently but in close cooperation and in consultation with Dr. Julia Ljubimova, a multi-NIH award holder and Principal Investigator as well as other Research Scientists on her team. You will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout your training period and may develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols. You will analyze and interpret data, study and work on the therapeutic properties and molecular biological mechanisms of new nanodrugs for in vitro / in vivo models, which will be optimized for clinical efficacy to treat breast and hematological tumors. You may assist in preparation of grant proposals and participate in publications and presentations as author or co-author. You will not be responsible for generating grant funds. You will also be expected to commit to working in the lab for a minimum of three years.
PhD or MD/PhD in biology. Demonstrated significant, original, and creative contributions to a research or creative program or project. Completion of postdoctoral appointment in area of specialization.
A minimum of 3-4 years as a postdoctoral fellow and completion of a postdoctoral appointment in biology / immunology are preferred. Demonstrate strong self-motivation in scientific research, work independently with full training and minimal supervision, and fit well into experiment-orientated working schedule. Possess knowledge and demonstrated technical competency in a variety of research techniques, laboratory procedures and experimental protocols related to drug delivery and Nanomedicine. Must have experience in cancer molecule biology/immunology, gene array/proteomics and the experience to conduct the bioinformatic analyses for the genomics/proteomics data.
