Patient Placement Representative - Admitting Bed Reservations - Mon - Fri, Varied Shifts

The Department of Admitting/Bed Reservations, has a position available for a Patient Placement Representative.  This position will have variable shifts starting times. 

You will facilitate patient placement at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by being proficient in various clinical information systems (e.g.:  CS-Link, including the ASAP components; Surgery Information System), having a basic understanding of medical terminology, and a complete understanding of the patient aggregation models.  Must adhere to CSMC policies and procedures regarding patient privacy and confidentiality, utilize appropriate communication skills to receive and convey  information with sensitivity and attention to special populations, including patients with diverse cultural background, age, developmental issues and physical disability
Educational Requirements:
High school graduate is required.  Minimum 2 years of college is preferred.  English language proficiency. Medical Terminology highly preferred.

License/Certification Requirements:

Minimum (3) years in a health care environment.  Patient placement experience, strongly preferred.  Excellent interpersonal skills.  Strong written and oral communication skills for interacting with patients, payers, physicians and all other CSHS customers.  Demonstrated abilities to work well as a team player and independently as required.  PC literacy.  Basic Medical Terminology is required.  Working knowledge of patient registration and account management systems, helpful but not required.  Customer service experience required.  Able to function effectively with frequent interruptions and demands on time and attention.  Must be able to multi-task and be flexible as the workload constantly shifts.  Accuracy and attention to detail; good problem solving and conflict management skills.

Physical Demands:
General office:  must be able to sit and be on the telephone for long periods of time.  Includes manual dexterity; bending; stooping; prolonged standing and walking; lifting up to 25 lbs to perform general office duties; and the ability to maintain a calming presence in stressful situations.  Must be able to perform assigned duties in a demanding work environment
