The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine participates in the care of virtually every Cedars-Sinai patient, using the most sophisticated methods for making accurate diagnoses in all areas of anatomic and clinical pathology. In addition, the department provides expert consultation services to the outside community. Our expert pathologists and clinical scientists are committed to improving precision medicine approaches, advancing basic science and translational research, and providing excellent training and education.
Job duties of a Customer Service Rep:
Acts as a liaison between clients and department, researches and resolves client problems.
Answers an average of 40 incoming phone calls per day, trouble shoots problems with orders.
Calls critical and toxic values to caregivers.
High School Diploma or its equivalent.
2 Year college degree/ associates or equivalent education and experience preferred.
Minimum 2 years experience in a medical setting, with laboratory background preferred.
Excellent organization skills and ability to work independently. Must be a problem solver. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language. Practical knowledge or computer operations, experience in lab settings.
Frequent sitting and standing; occasional walking and bending. Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds for distances to 10 feet or more, frequent use of computer keyboard, monitors and telephone. Repetitive hand motion. Exposure to minimal constant noise levels.
