Nurse Practitioner - Liver Transplant - Inpatient

Provides In-Patient services to HBS and Liver Transplant patients. NP is responsible for preparing the patient for outpatient clinic by reviewing the chart, performing history and physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, reviewing results and reporting to the Physician as needed. Develops and implement patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership and patient care management across the health care continuum from preventative and acute care through discharge in addition to outpatient management. The NP serves as a patient advocate throughout the care process, and represents the medical center at regional and national meetings/conferences.
Qualification Requirements/Preferences:
Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements:
MSN/ACNP
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program approved by the Ca. Board of Registered Nursing

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License. National Certification by respective accredited professional nursing organization such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Current NP Furnishing License/DEA from the State of California.
Current BLS/ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association.


Experience:
Minimum of 2 (two) years acute hospital experience


Physical Demands: (e.g. lifting, standing, walking)
• Full body motion
• Full sensory response (vision, speech, hearing, smell, touch)
• Manual finger dexterity and fine motor skills with eye-hand coordination
• Frequent standing, walking, twisting (trunk, neck), bending (waist), flexing/extending/stretching (extremities and trunk)
• Occasional sitting, gripping/grasping, reaching below shoulder level, reaching above shoulder level, kneeling, squatting
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull at least 100 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds
