We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Nurse Practitioner to execute the following job duties with our Kidney Transplant population.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Responsible for the planning and coordination of all aspects of  work up and care for Post Kidney Transplant and Infusion  patients.  
  • Responsible and accountable for the application of  the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental  liaison, education, leadership and patient care management across the health care continuum from preventative and acute care through discharge in addition to outpatient management.  
  • Serves as a patient advocate throughout the care process, and represents the medical center at regional and national meetings/conferences. 
  • Work collaboratively with the transplant nephrologists, pharmacists, and clinic infusion nurses to evaluate and treat patients referred for infusion of immunosuppressive/anti-rejection medications, intervene for any side effects or adverse reactions, and initiate appropriate workups.
  • Participate in ambulatory kidney transplant, post transplant clinic visits in-person and on virtual platforms.

Education: 

  • Master of Nursing Degree required
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program required  

License/Certification/Registration:

  • Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license required
  • National Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Current BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Current DEA license required (or eligibility to obtain)

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of acute hospital experience required
  • Relevant Nurse Practitioner experience preferred
  • Transplant experience strongly preferred
