Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has an opening for MLA 1 CPT in Pathology & Lab Medicine.
The MLA 1 CPT will be responsible for routine operational and support functions, including phlebotomy, specimen processing and transportation. Data entry and communication of test results and process of specimens on analyzers for CLS review. Activities include receiving, logging, processing and distributing laboratory specimens and test requisitions, communicating information and test values. Additional duties include routine operational and support functions and phlebotomy.
High School diploma or equivalent.
California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) I License required.
Flexible, independent worker, able to handle multiple tasks at one time and heavy workload required. Recent experience in a large hospital setting, including instrument troubleshooting skills, preferred. Strong interpersonal communication skills for interacting with peers, patients, physicians and other customers of the medical center. Full command (verbal and written) of the English language. Need recent lab experience with Hem/Chem and/or Urinalysis instrumentation. Good computer skills desirable.
Position will be 0.5 FTE in Cancer Center Lab and 0.5 FTE in Core Lab.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for up to 10 ft., and ability to respond to auditory alarms. Visual acuity up to 6 ft. including color differentiation; depth perception and peripheral vision. Frequent walking and/or standing. Manual dexterity including grasping and fine manipulation.
