Lead CS-Link Inpatient Trainer

The Lead Trainer will be accountable for the development, implementation, and success of the software application/system training program. Will be expected to lead the development and implementation of the training program for their respective team. Will participate in workflow design and system build sessions in order to represent the interests of the training team and to facilitate the assignment and focus of work for their team. Will oversee and participate in the building, testing, and maintenance of a well-designed training environment for the application. Will ensure that their team incorporates updates and new software releases into the training environment that all changes are communicated to their business units, and that update training is provided. The Lead Trainer will assist the Training Manager with the overall day-to-day staff management activities of their team.

Job Responsibilities (the scope of responsibility, department and position levels including knowledge and practice of the clinical/technical skills necessary to the position):
1. Assists the Training Manager with the development and implementation of enterprise training plans.
2. Works closely with project managers, applications managers, applications specialists, and subject matter experts and leads the work of their team to develop, validate, and update training materials.
3. Develop presentation information and attends management and leadership meetings.
4. Reviews, edits, and approves all curriculum content, including but not limited to, leader/student guides, quick reference materials, job aids, scripts, and scenarios.
5. Reviews and approves application-specific and cross-application training environment requirements.
6. Leads the build, configuration, and testing of the training environment so that they mirror the production environment as closely as possible.
7. Proactively manages issues and risks and escalates problem issues to the Training Manager when appropriate.
8. Leads training overview and training change communication event activities.
9. Develops, oversees, and executes appropriate success criteria and measures for training.
10. Develops, approves, and monitors post implementation/upgrade training optimization plans.
11. Leads the appropriate level of training for business unit managers and end-users.
12, Ensures that end-user issues, parking lot items, or questions are responded to in a timely and appropriate manner by their team.
13. Develops, approves, and monitors all plans that assure application training is being delivered at the appropriate service levels and costs.
14. Develops policies and procedures for all areas of training responsibility.
15. Leads training for all phases of the application implementation lifecycle, including training super-users, other trainers, and end-users.
16. Assists the Training Manager with the development of all performance appraisal measures.
17. Assists the Training Manager with the development and implementation of budgets and work plans.
18. Provides mentoring to all training team members.
19. Participates in and leads training team member activities in end-user implementation-related support.
20. Manages and completes all project tasks and requirements within timelines as assigned by the Training Manager.

 

Education:equivalent combination of education or experience in lieu of degree is acceptable. 

 Typically requires 5-7 years of systems training and curricula development experience; 7-10 years preferred.
• Healthcare or related medical curricula development experience
• Demonstrated team leadership experience with complex training projects.
• Demonstrated experience with training curriculum development and best practice instructional design techniques.
• eLearning courses design and development experience preferred,
• Learning management system administration experience preferred.
• Requires demonstrated ability to deliver classroom training using best practice adult learning principles.
• Demonstrated use of advanced training project management methodologies.
• Ability to accept accountability for assignments, timeliness and quality of work
• Excellent communication skills with all levels of hospital staff and amongst team leaders.
• For Epic related positions, requires current certification in at least one Epic module.
• Project Management Professional or related Project Management Certification or Certified Professional in Learning and Performance is preferred.
