What will you be doing in this role?


As a Sonographer, you will assist in all procedures performed in the Non-Invasive Cardiac Laboratory (Echo) for the congenital population.  Provides support to outpatient & inpatient services, operating suite and catheterization lab for efficient operations.  Provides a safe patient care environment.  Has responsibility and accountability for recording 2 Dimensional Echocardiograms/ Doppler/Color Flow examinations using ultrasound equipment to provide data for diagnosis of heart ailments.  Consistently demonstrates proficiency in the performance of all procedures and competency in the use of all related ultrasound equipment and computers.  Is an active participant in departmental and performance improvement activities and mentors other staff.  Collects/documents data to meet clinical, financial, and regulatory requirements.

Experience we are looking for:

Minimum of 3 years' experience as a sonographer
Relevant clinical experience for population served
Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively coordinate all aspects of patient care
Good judgment and application of critical thinking skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal communication, with persons of various cultural and educational backgrounds
Available 24 hours/day if scheduled for on-call activities (varies by program)
Participates in significant ongoing congenital and pediatric training and will learn/follow extensive congenital protocols/workflows to ensure high standards
Computer proficiency

Educational Requirements:


Graduated from a 2 year accredited ultrasound school


License/Certification/Registration Requirements:


Current RDCS in Pediatric and/or Adult

BCLS certified
