Cedars-Sinai's Emergency Department (ED) leads the way with a Level I Trauma Center, Pediatric Trauma Center, Pediatric Critical Care Center, On-Site Laboratory, STEMI Receiving Center, Stroke Receiving Center, Satellite Blood Bank and Paramedic Base Station open 24 hours a day, seven days a week available to all people in need.

 

We have an exciting and new opportunity for a CNS for the ED, an advanced practice nurse to take a leadership role in designing, implementing and evaluating patient-specific and population-based programs of care at the unit based and system level.

  • Responsibilities are achieved through three spheres of influence: client, personnel, and organizational systems.
  • A critical component of the CNS is to generate and evaluate evidence for practice.
  • The CNS works collaboratively to provide guidance, direction and assistance to the health care team to maintain and provide optimum quality care to the ED population.

Educational Requirements:

  • Master's degree in clinical nursing specialty required.
  • Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree preferred.

License/Certification Requirements:

  • Valid California Registered Nurse license.
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist certification by the CA Board of Registered Nursing.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Life Support certifications.
  • National Specialty certification required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years recent experience in nursing, including 3 years in specialty.
  • Experience as a CNS preferred.
  • Meets specialty specific clinical competencies for assigned area
