Summary of Essential Job Duties:
Under the direction of Plant Operations leadership, will oversee all operational, technical and personnel activities within critical areas of the Plant Operations and Engineering Services organization. The incumbent will function as a leader and expert and is accountable for the timely delivery of service needs for all the assigned units, including providing management support to other maintenance areas. The Assistant Manager guides staff in meeting customer's needs consistent with the Medical Center's philosophy, mission, vision, strategic plan and the Performance Improvement Plan.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise specific maintenance activities and oversee for assigned maintenance supervisors across various units and specialties regarding scheduled and unscheduled building maintenance activities.
Oversees effectiveness of work assignments by unit Supervisors following-up on work completion and productivity issues, as well as facilitating administrative work flow for the department.
Monitor standards of customer satisfaction across all areas of responsibility. Communicate and facilitate arrangements with clients to maintain operations and clinical activity of the facility during system shutdowns for repairs, testing or other scheduled maintenance and unscheduled repair activities.
Supports leadership in administrative operations by contributing to the establishment of annual operational budgets for responsible cost centers, recommending and reviewing purchase requisitions. Participate in strategic planning, the selection of contractors to ensure operational efficiency, human resources, staffing, quality improvement, patient advocacy educational and development programs.
Ensure that project outcomes are achieved by overseeing and managing mid to large repair projects, as well as implement large organizational improvements annually in collaboration with management.
In conjunction with leadership, coordinate with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and/or other regulatory entites regarding approvals for repair work and other maintenance projects. Assist Senior Leadership in the planning and implementation of The Joint Commission (TJC) readiness programs and participates on committees and task forces.
Escorts contractors and provides information as requested. Conduct Environment of Care rounds with medical center sections, staff, and all levels of leadership.
Responsible for training personnel in safety and/or other procedures.

Team Lead/Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:
Responsible for hiring, onboarding, managing schedules, personnel actions, performance reviews, and performance improvement plans.
Supervises the day to day work of employees, assigns work, ensures tasks are completed and deadlines are met.
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred Vocational/Technical Diploma.
Preferred Certified Healthcare Facility Manager.
Experience Work Experience Details:
4 years - Experience in Plant Operations and/or maintenance.
2 years - Supervisory or Management experience preferred.
Experience with Joint Commission and Department of Health inspection preferred.
Stand dynamically to perform a function and move to perform another.
Stand statically in one place to perform a function without changing location.
Sit at a desk or table with some walking, standing, bending, stooping, or carrying of light objects.
Perform continuous operation of a personal computer for four hours or more.
Use hands and fingers to handle and manipulate objects and/or operate equipment.
Climb stairs and/or ladders.
Bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, or crawl.
Bend upper torso and reach up and out with hands and arms (Rarely).
Perform unaided lifting of objects, please list the amount of weight that would be lifted, along with the frequency required(Rarely).
