As a Clinical Research Budget Coordinator I you will provide support to faculty and staff conducting oncology research by maintaining quality assurance of study/trial budgets. You will develop clinical trial budgets sponsored by industry, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and investigator-initiated clinical research. In addition, you will critically evaluate research protocols to assess resource needs; assessment includes all research procedures, clinical research staff time, investigator time, and costs from ancillary departments. You will also allocate cost, negotiate budgets, detail budgets, and assist with invoicing for study/trial. And finally you will ensure compliance with all federal and local agencies including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and local Institutional Review Board.


The Clinical Research Budget Coordinator I, in addition will perform the following duties:

  • Process Ancillary Agreements with departments providing research services
  • Review Protocol Amendments for impact to MCA and budget/contract and process MCA, budget and/contract amendment as applicable
  • Work closely with ancillary departments to identify research procedures needed and obtain accurate cost details.
  • Assist with transferring financial information from finalized study budgets and Clinical Trial Agreements into OnCore Financial Console for studies handled via OnCore.

Educational Requirements:

BA or BS degree, preferred

License/Certification Requirements:

Specialty research certification (preferred)

Experience:

Three (3) years of experience with billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, financial analysis or related field.
